Sununu: Shaheen Lacks Credibility on Key Issues

Former Democratic Gov. Jeanne Shaheen lacks credibility on issues such as taxes and the Iraq War according to Republican Sen. John Sununu in an exclusive freewheeling interview with Now! Hampshire.
Sununu and Shaheen are expected to battle this year for the US Senate seat Sununu captured over Shaheen in 2002.
“She supported the Bush tax cuts, now she’s against them. She supported our involvement in Iraq, and now she has changed her mind. She took a pledge back when she was governor not to impose a broadbased tax, and then she pushed and tried to give the state a sales tax that would have devastated our economy,” said Sununu. “You know, you’ve got to be honest and sincere and direct with voters about your position, about your values.”
Asked directly if Shaheen had the credibility to attack him on these issues on which she has changed her position, Sen. Sununu stated emphatically, “No. None whatsoever.”
“People are tired of politicians who flip-flop back and forth,” he concluded.
