Kathy Sullivan in wild exchange on WMUR

Perhaps succumbing to the pressures of the Democrats’ declining fortunes in the Granite State former Democratic State Chairman Kathy Sullivan appeared to come unglued on WMUR’s Close-Up on Sunday.

Sullivan, wearing what can only be described as Sarah Palin glasses, repeatedly interrupted fellow guest Republican consultant David Carney’s comments with wild, penetrating cackles of uncomfortable laughter. Then after routinely saying Republicans were lying – about virtually everything – Sullivan lost her discipline when Carney accused her of lying about the state budget process.

The incident follows a series of bizarre escapades by Sullivan who can be seen at Aldermanic meetings in Manchester glaring at Republican Mayor Ted Gatsas while furiously writing notes. Some have wondered if Sullivan herself donned a bunny costume to appear in a notoriously campy—and widely ridiculed—Democratic web video recently.

Republican spokesman Ryan Williams cracked wise about the encounter.

“Lynch, Hodes and Shea Porter’s declining poll numbers, the failure of Obama’s economic policies and the sinking realization that Democrats are going to get trounced in November – it’s all taking a toll on poor Kathy’s mental stability. Republicans hope that Kathy gets the professional help she needs to cope with her grief during this difficult time for Democrats,” William said.
