Does this woman say

Does this woman say outrageous things?

In his analysis of why the NH-01 congressional contest will be among the “most interesting showdowns of 2010” POLITICO’s Charles Mahtesian asserts that Rep. Carol Shea-Porter “doesn’t say outrageous things.”

We invite our readers to determine for themselves if they feel he has accurately portrayed the Congresswoman’s statements and behavior of late:

1. Last April Shea-Porter had her office evacuated when an envelope marked “tea protest” was found to contain … tea.

2. In August she referred to political opponents as “teabaggers” (she has since refused to apologize).

3. At the same time she accused former Attorney General Kelly Ayotte of meeting with the “teabaggers” who follow her (Shea-Porter) around (Ayotte is running against second district Democrat Paul Hodes, not Shea-Porter, for Senate, not Congress and was merely attending an event in the same city on the same night as CSP).

4. She recently told a talk radio caller that Congress needs to enact the public option “because the constitution did not cover everything.”

5. Last spring she stated in a committee hearing that many of her constituents would love to wait in line for medical care.

6. This summer she personally called up a reporter to claim a former Republican Chairman was a liar and that she had not been removed from a 2005 Bush town hall event, which NowHampshire.com debunked with a FOIA request that revealed she was in fact removed by two police officers.

7. She held only two town hall meetings with constituents in which she forced voters to pass through a metal detector (the meeting turned into a complete debacle that erupted online because a retired police officer was forcibly removed from the event).

8. She stated in successive days that 1.) The stimulus has not created as many jobs as Democrats had anticipated, and 2.) She is proud she voted for it.

9. Said that she “loves” controversial Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) and his “moral compass is a wonder to behold.”

Creating something out of nothing? That is the problem! Liberals dismiss this kind of behaviour and speech as “Nothing” I think they are the statements of a person totally out of touch with reality. This was manifest in a debate with Jeb Bradley when she referred to her political opponents as “Her Enemies” I am working to make a change.

  2. Patrick says:

1-9 are sad attempts to create something out of nothing. At least Politico had a real reporter with a real name….

Example: In number four you said ” She recent”?

The long slow death of the Republican Party is a sad thing to watch, sometimes.
