Shea-Porter: I love Alan Grayson and his moral compass is wonderful to behold

Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) is not one to keep silent about a major controversy.
Before she even ran for Congress Shea-Porter was removed by police officers from a George W. Bush town hall and frequently disrupted then-incumbent Jeb Bradley’s town halls. She has called this year’s conservative town hall protesters “tea-baggers” and refused to apologize when informed about the deliberate sexual connotation of that term. And she harshly criticized Rep. Joe Wilson of South Carolina when he called President Barack Obama a “liar” during a speech to a Joint Session of Congress a few weeks ago.
But Carol Shea-Porter is remaining silent about the increasingly bizarre behavior of her colleague Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson of Florida.
In fact, her most recent comments of record on Mr. Grayson are overwhelmingly positive.
“I love both of these men and I will tell you that they are both driven by a moral compass that is just wonderful to behold,” said Shea-Porter while appearing with Rep. Grayson on a panel at the Netroots Nation summit in August. “And we share almost all the same kinds of goals and values and Alan and I do as well.”
Shea-Porter’s office did not respond to NowHampshire.com’s request for comment on whether she still stands by her characterization of Grayson.
In just the latest controversy, Grayson called a female advisor to Fed chief Ben Bernanke a “K Street whore”:
Several Democratic lawmakers have criticized Grayson for these remarks and others. But not Shea-Porter.
The “whore” comments are hardly Grayson’s only controversial comments of late. Grayson has claimed that the Republicans’ health care plan is to make Americans “die quickly.” He has also compared America’s health care system to the Jewish Holocaust.
Democratic Rep. Paul Hodes (NH-02) has also failed to condemn Grayson’s remarks.
I can almost see the dirt beneath your fingernails from your obsessive and sad attempt to dig up dirt on this woman. And again, you come up with nothing.
Just wait until your candidate and his out-of-touch captains are held up to the light. We’ll see who is distancing themselves after that.
Rep. Shea-Porter will hold her ground as usual. And win, again. When you start writing articles about the issues and not made up controversies (backed up by data), maybe then I will start to get worried for her.
