Unemployment in NH still rising, but slowly

Concord – New Hampshire’s jobless rate ticked up a tenth of a percentage point in August to 6.9 percent from July, the state said.
The number of unemployed residents rose 1,040 to 51,100 from July to August, according to the states Economic and Labor Market Bureau. That was 22,590 more unemployed than in August last year.
The preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 6.9 percent for August was 3 percentage points higher than the seasonally adjusted rate of 3.9 percent in August 2008.
