sen grassley kinda let that slide. he didn’t condemn, he didn’t say “hey that’s not right”. he let… it… slide.

again, some dems call em as they see ‘em, i guess. i can give you more and more examples as they flood in. seriously, they are all over the place, and increasing in both number and violent nature.

it’s really kind of scary.

an intriguing scene from a town-hall meeting in California hosted by GOP Rep. Wally Herger, courtesy of the Mount Shasta Area Newspapers:

One speaker said he could trace his ancestors back to the Mayflower and said “they did not arrive holding their hands out for help.”

“I am a proud right wing terrorist,” he declared to cheers.

Herger praised the man’s attitude.

“Amen, God bless you,” Herger said with a broad smile. “There is a great American.”

I’m done here. I’m willing to accept you as a spokesman for mainstream liberalism, jsut spoouting off talking points. You claim to be interested in rational discourse… as long as people shut those conservatives up.

I’m sure your assuming the talking points to marginalize people on the Right are appreciated, though.

there is one main and crucial distinction here between “code pink” and their types on the left, and these organized angry mob protesters on the right that you are neglecting.

a handful of code pink types made their statements, and were promptly escorted away. but civil discourse *always* resumed… it was just an interruption.

with these town hall mobs however, their goal is apparently to shout down the entire democratic process. to chant “NO, NO, NO” and keep senators from actually communicating with their constituents, and vice versa.

immediately ending civil discourse on a very complex topic that has serious ramifications for all Americans, and for generations to come is objectionable, at very best.

and the fact that boehner and republican senators are encouraging this behavior might make one wonder: why do they fear rational civilized discourse and debate?

and no. mainstream dems do *not* feel this is terrorism. but I do feel it is a very shameful way to treat a topic so important as health care.
