Dem Chair to ‘Muster’ Obama Volunteers to ‘Push Back Against These Thugs’

We’re still in the first week of August but it’s shaping up to be the hottest on record—politically speaking, that is.
New Hampshire Democratic State Chairman Ray Buckley is threatening to “muster” Organizing For America, the Obama administration’s political arm, while promising liberal Granite Staters, “you are going to see significant push back on these thugs.”
By “thugs” Buckley means taxpayers who have expressed discontent at recent congressional town hall meetings.
Writing on the liberal blog Blue Hampshire Wednesday, Buckley commented, “I have been thinking about Al Gore alot (sic) lately with all of the similarities between the Florida GOP riot in 2000 and what they are now doing to congressional town meetings.”
To which a commenter replied, “I’d really like to see OFA [Organizing For America] come up big on this. Who could think of a better reason to call a muster?”
“Yes,” said Buckley. “I think you are going to see significant push back on these thugs.”
Buckley’s tough talk is ironic however as to date none of the Democratic members of New Hampshire’s congressional delegation has publicly announced they will host a town hall meeting this August. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat, will host a “tele-town hall” on Thursday night, but it is expected to be little more than a tightly scripted conference call with supporters.
Buckley has a history of using incendiary rhetoric to describe people who he disagrees with. He called protesters who attended tea party protests on April 15 an “unhinged mob.”

again, some dems call em as they see ‘em, i guess. i can give you more and more examples as they flood in. seriously, they are all over the place, and increasing in both number and violent nature.

there is one main and crucial distinction here between “code pink” and their types on the left, and these organized angry mob protesters on the right that you are neglecting.
a handful of code pink types made their statements, and were promptly escorted away. but civil discourse *always* resumed… it was just an interruption.
with these town hall mobs however, their goal is apparently to shout down the entire democratic process. to chant “NO, NO, NO” and keep senators from actually communicating with their constituents, and vice versa.
immediately ending civil discourse on a very complex topic that has serious ramifications for all Americans, and for generations to come is objectionable, at very best.
and the fact that boehner and republican senators are encouraging this behavior might make one wonder: why do they fear rational civilized discourse and debate?
and no. mainstream dems do *not* feel this is terrorism. but I do feel it is a very shameful way to treat a topic so important as health care.
Besides the ones I mentioned previously, crooksandliars comes to mind. The CNN blog is pretty partisan, too, especially on its Sarah Palin threads. I guess that’s understandable, though, since CNN does pretend to be a news organization.
I’ll check out Fox Nation. If their comments are that bad, I’ll speak up. But be warned… the Democrat mainstream currently holds that Republicans expressing their opinions to elected officials is terrorism. Comments will need to be several time worse than that to provoke criticism from me.

i have not posted to the liberal websites, but i follow Fox Nation and have tried to post similiar “can’t we all get along” messages there.
in Fox Nation, I have yet to get a single comment through their website moderation. they only allow conservative thought, and only post liberal thought when it is over the top, and extreme.

Sarah Palin was hung in effigy during the presidential campaign. Please direct me to your post anywhere expressing your outrage. Do you have evidence of the SS outfits and swastikas, and how do they compare to the numbers of military-like outfits worn by the left during the Bush years? Do you think it would have been appropriate for senior elected Republicans to have lumped all liberals in with those fringe elements? Because that’s what the Democrats are doing.

Links? It is VERY rare where I see a liberal try to stop hate speech directed against the right. Maybe you do, but in my experience the odds are against it.

Sometimes, yeah. Often it’s obviously hyperbole. Usually when I see guns mentioned, it’s more in context of self defense, but explicit references to violence are probably more common on conservative sites. Liberals just want conservatives suppressed, and it’s an inferred (if I’m to be honest) threat that they’ll have the government use the force.

Most of my social contacts are opposed to my political bent, as I live in a very “blue” area. Online, most of the political sites I visit are libertarian/ conservative, because I’ve never been able to find a liberal site that does not routinely sling casual Nazi/ thug/ etc. accusations.

Now they are asking a group of people, outside of the congressional districts, to come to town halls to confront those constituents. This is not a good thing. There are lots of accusations about “high-level republican operatives” and bussing people in, but no proof that this is happening. (The one expose turned up an unknown guy from Conn. who emailed a memo to 10 (ten!) people.) Now the Democrats want to bus in their own people. It’s astounding arrogance. People of all stripes are starting to feel they truely are NOT represented, but more and more heavily taxed. And we all know that taxation without representation is tyranny.

Bush used to acknowledge protestors’ rights to free speech. McCain, during the campaign, not only insisted that his supporters NOT block someone wearing an Obama shirt, but gave her the first question in the Q&A.

One of this country’s precepts is Freedom of Speech. Democrats are opposed to that. Democrats ARE lesser Americans.

Can you please accept the fact that your party has had control of Congress for 2 1/2 years. Congress sets the budget the only thing a President can do is veto. Your party pushed throuh a $787 billion “stimulus” program that is nothing more than social spending that my kids will be paying for in the years to come. Neither party is doing a great job.
I will say that being called a mob, nazi, thug, too well dressed to be sincere by the DNC has got me really PO’ed. The left crucified Bush for years, rightly or wrongly but he never asked for people to report on each other to the White House. I believe that there is a line in the Constitution Bill of Rights which reads:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

And seriously, the whole painting opposition as sore losers and touting the whole “We won, you lost” bit really makes one beg an important and oft-ignored question: Why did Obama win, anyway? Sure, we all acknowledge he won (closely, mind you), but why did he win? Was it really because all of the people who voted for him thought he was the best person for the job? Somehow I doubt it. He won only because of the following circumstances:
* People voting against Bush (even tho Bush wasn’t running again)
* People voting simply to make history of the first African-American president (even tho he’s mixed; on a side note, it’s funny how opposition now is labeled as racist, yet the media couldn’t stop playing on his race during the campaign)
* People buying into his ‘utopian’ promises (and not realizing the details of how those promises could even remotely be kept)

The internet has brought us full circle. We truly are a village again. Before alternative news sources I would find myself seething watching the news. They lob softballs to the left and attack the right. I felt isolated and despaired that I would never be able to find like minded people. Now the internet allows us to link up and organize. This is not astro-turf, this is a mew movement, we are primordial at this point in time. We are emerging as a new voice and banding together. Together we are strong and will take back our country! I have not been this excited about the possibilities in years! Go to your town halls and make your voices heard!
AT LAST!!! Working people are finding the balls to speak out and SHOW UP. In all of my prayers I’m asking Godspeed to 2010. Of course by then I may have been targeted as anti-American and be in a re-education camp for repeating too many “facts”. The working people are starting to realize that it’s time to rise up (peacefully) and raise our voices so loud that the establishment can no longer trash us as the extreme fringe.
This is how revolutions get started. People are elected to office to serve the people, and they become bigger than the people that put them there in their minds. Never heard of this air head before, but it says he’s a congressman, and he is to serve the people he’s calling thugs.All of a sudden there are a lot of these people out there all the way to the top.
