Former Biden NH Chairman Jim Ryan Still in Jail

Disgraced former Democratic state legislator and Joe Biden campaign chairman Jim Ryan won’t pay his fines incurred from a forgery conviction in 1991 because he is holding out for a teaching job at Keene State or New England College, prosecutor Susan Boone told the Associated Press.

A Keene State College representative provided no information about Ryan potentially being hired, stating that their policies forbid the release of hiring information, regardless of who it is. The representative did however say that she was not familiar with the latest developments in Ryan’s case. New England College carries a similar policy and said that even if Ryan was seeking a position there, that they would not immediately release such information.

Judge Peter Fauver had reduced Ryan’s bail from $9,000 to $1,000 in order to make it easier for him to leave Carroll County Jail where he is being held. Judge Fauver recommended for him to start “flipping burgers” or even “shoveling snow” so that he could start paying his fines. Ryan has been ordered to start making payments of $250 each month starting in November until his $9,000 in fines are paid off.
