Why NH Representatives Voted No on Bailout

Yesterday on Capital Hill, New Hampshire Reps. Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes voted against the $700 billion bailout bill. The plan failed by less than 20 votes, with more Democrats voting for the plan than Republicans. Immediately after the vote, both NH Representatives explained their reasoning behind their votes.

Increased Heating Fuel Assistance For Winter

The cooling economy and months are raising concerns across New England about how people are going to pay for heating fuel this winter. The Senate approved a $5.1 billion heating assistance plan for the country as a whole with at least $34.1 million destined for New Hampshire.

UNH Dining Halls Serve Local Food Feast

Today the University of New Hampshire is serving something a little different and a little less foreign to its thousands of hungry students. UNH dining will be having its third Local Harvest Feast where locally grown and produced foods replace standard items on the menu that may come from thousands of miles away.
